The Slave Relic Museum, the first African-American history museum of its kind in the area, is dedicated to documenting, preserving, interpreting and celebrating the history and culture of peoples of African descent.
It houses the Center for Research and Preservation of the African-American culture and is conveniently located in Walterboro's historic downtown district.
The museum features an incredible collection of artifacts, photographs and written documents that explore the African slave trade and the story of enslaved Africans in the Antebellum South.
Features of the museum's collections include Plantation artifacts, slave furniture, rare slave documents, jewelry, actual Underground Railroad artifacts and slave-made quilts dating from the 1830's to the 1860's.

9:30AM - 5:30PM
Saturday 10AM - 3PM
Admission $6 adults, $5 children
